I have one sitting in my safe now with a 4" slide awaiting testing. Kimber sent it to me last week. I will keep yall updated on how it acts.

If it ain't a Colt it's a copy.

I know it is not a great picture but would you believe I have not even started writing the review? I just finished the one on my Special Combat Government today and sent it in.

I have had an Ultra Covert II since last June. I had to have the ramp polished but since then the gun has been flawless. I may be one of the few but this has been a great gun.

Are you guys serious? None of you have ever fired this gun. Your all sold on Colts as THEE gun. Not every gun that isn't a Colt 45 is a POS. I know, since I actually fired this gun, that it is accurate, very good feel, and goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Plus, it looks good on Grand River Blvd. (that's in Detroit, since I'm sure none of you have ever been there). I own a Para, A Kimber and a Colt, and if you have nothing better to do than bad mouth every gun you don't own, your doing a dis-service to all of us looking for honest information.

Agree! Have a Kimber Ultra Stainless Raptor II 3" Has been good to go right from the start. 400 rounds Bang everytime and very accurate!! I am sure there are problems with all 1911's, seems I recall that colt had a big recall recently.

you really think this is what we are doing?

CLICK HERE for a detailed report of my kimber pro raptor 2 that was such crap that it wouldnt function at all. it was so bad, that the gun store bought it back from me. were it a production line pistol it would have almost been forgivable but it was supposedly a "custom shop" pistol which means a master gunsmith supposedly built and tested the gun.

CLICK HERE for a detailed report of a catastrophic failure in my colt commander. its been to the range twice, and its been shipped back to colt twice. the last time (described in that link) the firing pin came flying out of the rear of the weapon while i was on the firing line. the firing pin flew out and hit me in the face. i hope the third trip to the range will go better, but im not overly excited about trying it again.

CLICK HERE to read about my $1200 EMP. look at the first video to see the failures for yourself, including mutilple FTFs as well as 3 and 4 strikes to ignite different types of ammunition. springfield has since made the weapon right and now i absolutely love it, but it was a rough ride at first and i certainly think ive earned the justification to bitch about manufacturers selling a $1000+ gun that wont function.

btw, just for the sake of further clarification, CLICK HERE to see my own kimber covert pro 2. its also failure prone, but since i dont yet have 500 rounds through it i dont count the failures against it. if it still fails after 500 rounds (proper break-in) then at that point ill start bitching about this one too. i really do like the fit, finish, and overall feel of this gun. i truly hope it proves reliable after its broken in.

We have a few members that are, shall we say, opinionated
But for the most part we are very open minded and not prone to bashing your choices.

I own Colts and I own Kimbers, I like both brands and enjoy shooting them BUT I carry my Kimber. Why? Cause it fits, is more accurate than me and it goes bang every time and I just plain prefer it.

I find most "Kimber Bashers" base their opinions on the "basher' that yells the loudest.

'Nuff said liest I ignite a flame war and have to use my "Mod Powers" to ban myself...

While the technician is more important than the technology it is good to remember that a 9mm might expand but a .45 won't shrink
